Patton Middle School invites everyone including 5th grade parents to come out for a presentation from Principal Tim Hoffman. He will be speaking about the middle school and school safety. Please join us and get any additional questions you may have about the middle school answered. We hope to see you in the small cafeteria at Patton Wednesday morning May 10th.

IT'S TIME FOR RAFFLE BASKETS!!!

This year the Patton Carnival is Friday, May 5.  The Carnival is the PTO's main fundraiser each year.  The Basket Raffle is a mainstay, one of the true favorites at the carnival!  Last year the basket raffle helped to raise over $9,500 for use in events at Patton, Enrichment Projects, teacher subsidies and much more.  

Each 6th and 7th grade Prime Time selects a theme for their basket.  Students then donate a NEW item or monetary contribution to fill their Basket.  Most 8th grade Prime Times collect money and then purchase large items such as ipads, TV's, Laptops, Trips, etc.  Click here to find out what your child's advisory theme is.

Our second annual Writers Day is scheduled for Monday, May 1st at Patton Middle School. Writers Day is a Writing Conference for kids. Students choose which workshop sessions they would like to attend. This year, our keynote speaker is MG/YA author Gary Schmidt (The Wednesday Wars, Okay for Now, Orbiting Jupiter).  This year all grades will participate in the event!

We are looking for donations of food to provide a light breakfast for the authors.  We also need a few volunteers to help check in the volunteers.  Please sign up here if you can help!

Patton Needs Help With a S.T.E.A.M. Initiative

Patton Middle School is excited to announce that we are building a "MakerSpace." A "MakerSpace" is a collaborative workplace where students with shared interests gather for making, learning, exploring and sharing. The goal of Patton's "MakerSpace is to assist in preparing our students for the critical 21st century skills in the fields of science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM). The "MakerSpace" will provide our students with opportunities for hands on learning, problem solving and critical thinking skills.

We need your help to stock our MakeSpace.  If you have any of the following items that you would be willing to donate to Patton, please have your child drop them off at Patton's library.

SECOND ANNUAL WRITERS DAY 5/1

WRITERS NEEDED


Writers Day is a Writing Conference for kids. Students choose which workshop sessions they would like to attend. This year, our keynote speaker is MG/YA author Gary Schmidt (The Wednesday Wars, Okay for Now, Orbiting Jupiter).

We are looking for community members who write within their job requirements or for personal enrichment (and everything in between) to workshop with groups of 20-25 students in the morning.

The students bring a notebook and a pencil to your assigned classroom and learn something about writing--from you! Please forward this sign-up document to family and friends who may be able to help us.

Last year, we had community members lead sessions on food blogging, social media marketing, technical writing, advertising, personal journaling, writing for business, journalism, developing a script, historical research, legal writing, science fiction, and many other interesting topics.

You do not need to consider yourself a professional writer in order to participate.

Annual UCFEF Community Yard Sale Fundraiser

We need volunteer help and household donations.

Please share our needs with your neighbors.

Please donate used outdoor equipment, electronics, antiques, furniture, decorative items and household items.

The UCFEF annual yard sale benefits ALL UCFSD schools districtwide in classroom, program, and activity grants, and also provides 2 scholarships for graduating seniors.

Please drop off donations at our host school Unionville Elementary on

Friday April 28th 3:30-6:00 pm Wednesday May 3rd 3:30-6:00 pm Friday May 5th 3:30-6:00 pm Furniture is welcome and a pick can be arranged at unionvilleyardsale@gmail.com

Donate for Run for our Sons

Please consider donating to our online silent auction to benefit the Johnson family.  

Our friend and coworker, Joanna Johnson (a UHS teacher) has two sons, Henry and Eliot, who suffer from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a degenerative muscle disease that affects one in 3,500 boys. Duchenne is diagnosed in early childhood and slowly robs boys of their muscle function, until eventually they are confined to wheelchairs and have trouble performing simple tasks.   As you can imagine, as the boys get older, the Johnsons' medical costs continue to rise.  

I have reached out to numerous partners in our community to help Joanna, her husband Paul and the boys to help defray some of their costs. Thankfully, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Philadelphia 76ers donated amazing game day experiences and tickets to upcoming games next season.In addition, my friend, community member, and Phillies broadcaster, Ben Davis kindly donated a number of Phillies items to us. I am sharing the following link with you for you to consider making a bid on one of these fabulous items.
