IT'S TIME FOR RAFFLE BASKETS!!!
This year the Patton Carnival is Friday, May 5. The Carnival is the PTO's main fundraiser each year. The Basket Raffle is a mainstay, one of the true favorites at the carnival! Last year the basket raffle helped to raise over $9,500 for use in events at Patton, Enrichment Projects, teacher subsidies and much more.
Each 6th and 7th grade Prime Time selects a theme for their basket. Students then donate a NEW item or monetary contribution to fill their Basket. Most 8th grade Prime Times collect money and then purchase large items such as ipads, TV's, Laptops, Trips, etc. Click here to find out what your child's advisory theme is.

If you are able to help assemble and wrap baskets at the end of April/beginning of May please sign up for a slot here.
Also sign up for volunteering your time at the Carnival-- there are tons of teachers helping out but we need you!!!

Our second annual Writers Day is scheduled for Monday, May 1st at Patton Middle School. Writers Day is a Writing Conference for kids. Students choose which workshop sessions they would like to attend. This year, our keynote speaker is MG/YA author Gary Schmidt (The Wednesday Wars, Okay for Now, Orbiting Jupiter). This year all grades will participate in the event!
We are looking for donations of food to provide a light breakfast for the authors. We also need a few volunteers to help check in the volunteers. Please sign up here if you can help!
BOX TOP CHALLENGE
DEADLINE APRIL 7TH
The next Box Tops deadline is April 7st. As of the end of February, CFPMS has earned,$583 dollars! Please keep submitting box tops to help us reach our goal. Thanks to all those who have contributed. Friendly reminder that when submitting Box Tops, make sure to include the advisory teacher's name on the envelope or bag! For this deadline, please submit Box Tops only with a date AFTER April 1. Any Box Tops with a date before then cannot be submitted.
The top classes are as follows: 6th Grade- Mrs. Hadley with 461, 7th Grade-Mrs. Landry with 841 and 8th Grade-Remphrey with 363. Keep collecting the contest isn't over until May.
STILL NEEDS VOLUNTEERS FOR 2017-18:
Vice President, Basketball Night, Book Fair, Box Tops, Community Service, 6th Grade Mixer, Focus, Hospitality-Visitation Day, School Pictures, Spring Carnival, and Talent Show.

Patton Needs Help With a S.T.E.A.M. Initiative
Patton Middle School is excited to announce that we are building a "MakerSpace." A "MakerSpace" is a collaborative workplace where students with shared interests gather for making, learning, exploring and sharing. The goal of Patton's "MakerSpace is to assist in preparing our students for the critical 21st century skills in the fields of science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM). The "MakerSpace" will provide our students with opportunities for hands on learning, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
We need your help to stock our MakeSpace. If you have any of the following items that you would be willing to donate to Patton, please have your child drop them off at Patton's library.

Celebrate Spring in April by learning to weave a basket!
Weaving is relaxing and very rewarding. It's the perfect activity after a day of testing!
Weather permitting we will be outside for this session.
When : Tuesday and Thursday after school until 4:00.
Who: All 6th, 7th and 8th grade young artists
Class size is limited to 20 students.

SECOND ANNUAL WRITERS DAY 5/1

We are looking for community members who write within their job requirements or for personal enrichment (and everything in between) to workshop with groups of 20-25 students in the morning.
The students bring a notebook and a pencil to your assigned classroom and learn something about writing--from you! Please forward this sign-up document to family and friends who may be able to help us.
Last year, we had community members lead sessions on food blogging, social media marketing, technical writing, advertising, personal journaling, writing for business, journalism, developing a script, historical research, legal writing, science fiction, and many other interesting topics.
You do not need to consider yourself a professional writer in order to participate.

The Yard Sale benefits all UCFSD schools by supporting programs, classroom grants, and scholarships

toys, outdoor items, etc.
We cannot receive clothing donations, stuffed animals, scanners, printers, box TV's, copiers, mattresses

UES Spring Family Portraits Fundraiser
We have once again teamed up with photographer, Jordan Hayman, to offer family portraits to
benefit the UE PTO. Portraits will be taken on April 30th and May 21st. For $150 (retail value
$250), families will get a 30 minute photography session, with multiple poses, and a $30
print/digital download credit. UE PTO will receive a portion of each sitting fee. Perfect timing for
First Communion, Graduation and Mother's Day portraits.
We will also offer a deluxe package for the spring! For $350, Jordan will meet your family at
Longwood Gardens for a 90 minute session, with multiple poses and locations, and a $100
print/digital download credit. You will be responsible for your gardens admission, and have the
flexibility to choose a date and time that works for you. Mention UE PTO for this special offer, and to
have a portion of your sitting fee go to the UE PTO.

UHS BASEBALL TEAM CAR WASH
Join the UHS Baseball team on Saturday April 22nd for a fundraising doubleheader: -Car Wash in front of the high school from 11 am to 3 pm. -Hoods BBQ- mention UHS Baseball when placing your order and a percent of the proceeds will be donated back to the UHS Baseball Team. Nothing like a great BBQ sandwich on a great spring day.
