THANK YOU KIRTI GARG for chairing the Hawk News and getting the information out to parents each week.

THANK YOU JEN HALL, DANA MAYER, JENNY MOYER, BETTY KUCHARCZUK, LOIS KESTER, KAREN AMMON, FRANCIS GALVIN for all your hard word and dedication co-chairing the 8th Grade End of Year Celebration.

THANK YOU LISA BROWN AND MANDY BELL for organizing and running the 7th Grade Water Ice.

Patton PTO appreciates your time and dedication to making these events possible!

A HUGE THANK YOU to all parents that donated items and/or volunteered at the 8th grade End Of Year Celebration!  It was a great success, and the kids had a blast!

If your 8th grader was not able to attend the 8th Grade End of Year Celebration and would like a T-shirt (has UHS logo plus class of 2020), they may purchase a shirt for $10 at lunch on Monday, 6/14, or Tuesday, 6/15, outside the cafeteria.

Any remaining shirts will be in the Patton Office over the summer.   You can stop in to purchase a shirt for $10 during summer office hours if you would like one.  Only sizes left are available, no additional shirts will be ordered.

Stay connected to life at Patton. Volunteering with the PTO is a great way to meet other parents, Patton staff, and also to see what's going on at Patton Middle School!

Volunteer Opportunities for 2016-17:

  • Carnival Chair training (Jan-May) The carnival needs a few chairs to run our largest fundraiser of the year.  Take a year to learn the ropes and get trained this year to co-chair it the following year.

  • Talent Show Co-chairs(Mar/April) This show is student led and student ran. The talent show chair coordinates dates, practices, and is a figurehead to guide the kids.

There is something for everyone! Some events will need 2-3 Co-Chairs each! Grab a friend and volunteer together! To see the full list of committees and the descriptions click here. To learn more about these positions or getting involved in the PTO in general, contact Lynda Nadin at

There are some upcoming changes to Volunteer Clearances requirements. There is now an online resource on all school websites (listed under either the "Quick Links" or "Parent Resources" tabs) called "Clearances (Volunteers)".  On that web page are simplified instructions on who needs clearances and how to get them.

Here is a direct link to the page:

Some FAQs about Volunteer Clearances:

Q: When do the new rules go into effect?

A: July 1st, 2016

Q: Do I need fingerprinting?

A: Only if you have lived in PA less than 10 consecutive years

Q: How long are clearance good for?

A: Five years.

Thank you  to all our young artists who entered the Patton Planner Cover contest this year; the artwork was amazing!. Mr. Hoffman, the art teachers, and our team leaders had a very difficult decision choosing the best designs from 22 entries. Congratulations go to Josie Tucker, front cover, and Sarah Linskens, back cover. Additionally, Emily Wright's pencil drawing was chosen to be the Patton Postcard for 2016-2017.

The students and adults listed below received special recognition at our final pep rally on June 3rd. They were chosen to receive the school spirit award because of their outstanding contributions to our school. Their kind manner, helpfulness, work ethic and integrity set and example for others to follow. Patton appreciates their choice to do the right thing when no one is looking and their determination to be a positive leader for their peers. Each and every one of them make us Patton Proud!
