PATTON TECHNOLOGY & ENGINEERING PROGRAM

RECEIVES INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION

(Jason Palo & Scott Stoltzfus pictured on the left)

Charles Patton Middle School's Technology & Engineering Program, led by Jason Palo & Scott Stoltzfus, recently received international recognition for building one of the best programs in the world! They were awarded the International Technology & Engineering Educator Association's (ITEEA) 2016 Program of Excellence Award at our National Harbor in Washington D.C. This is a huge honor and accreditation as they were one of only 7 middle schools in the world to be recognized by the ITEEA this year. In addition to this recognition, they also won the Technology & Engineering Education Association of Pennsylvania's (TEEAP) 2015-16 Middle School Program of Excellence Award recognizing them for building the best program in the state. FOCUS logo NEW.jpg

As FOCUS' mission, we aim to promote health choices and behaviors for youth in our community, by  providing education to parents, students, and the community through parent seminars and workshops, student assemblies, and educational material.  This year we provided workshops in Conscious Parenting presented by Sue DeCaro and Erin Taylor, a student/parent night with Minding your Mind discussing anxiety, stress, and mental health awareness.

We will also be providing information along with Patton PTO Executive Board members on Middle School Transition Night, April 20th at Patton.

Next year the FOCUS committee  will be focusing on topics related to resilience, positive attitude and grit.

We would love anyone interested to come and be a part of FOCUS!  Our last meeting of the year is May 19th at 7:30pm in the Library at CFPMS
